Kemah Racing
I’ve moved my boat down to Kemah for a few months to get in some sailing on Galveston Bay and Clear Lake. Every Wednesday evening they have races on Clear Lake, and a very strong C22 Fleet races. This is a good opportunity to race against other C22s in a more open water situation, and also to race at the location of next years C22 Nationals. My boat is in a storage yard in Kemah where you can keep the mast up, and launch on their private ramp. There are a lot of C22’s in this yard, many in excellent condition and race ready. I raced Wed Evening and 7 C22s were on the line. The race set is a little unorthodox, only 3 minutes between starts, and the course is a loop around Clear Lake, with some long reaches. They pass in front of Villa Capri at the start, the the Turtle Club for the leeward mark. Villa Capri sponsors the races, and has buffet for the sailors after the races. Anyone interested in saliling in Kemah, or crewing for me on Wednesday’s let me know.

Wade wins the Dog Days Series
The Dog Days series is over. We had 3 boats that raced regularly, Wade Bingaman, Peter Broberg, and Joe Roddy. Wade came out on top. Next up is the “Late Summer Series” starting Sept. 15th, so no series racing during the hot August month.
